Michael T. Bumgarner named President of the Association of Legal Administrators

Flaherty Sensabaugh Bonasso is pleased to announce that firm Chief Executive Officer Michael T. Bumgarner, CPA, CLM, CGMA has been named President of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) Board of Directors. Debra L. Elsbury, CLM, officially passed the gavel to Mike on May 6 at ALA’s virtual Annual Meeting.

Mike is one of only 475 Certified Legal Managers (CLM) worldwide and was the first CLM in West Virginia.  He has been a member of ALA since 2002 and has held various leadership positions, including serving on the Certification Committee, Region 3 Leadership Team, Board of Directors, Chair of the Finance Committee and Compliance Officer for the Board of Directors. He will be the first West Virginia resident to serve as President of ALA, which includes 8,000 members worldwide who are involved in the management of law firms, corporate legal departments and government legal agencies.

Mike joined Flaherty in 2002 as the Firm Manager and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2009. He was named Chief Executive Officer in 2018.
