January 2024

Mark McGhee obtained a dismissal of all claims against seven current or former employees of the City of Parkersburg, including the Mayor, Fire Chief, and former Chief of Police. The City of Parkersburg employees were sued for alleged civil rights violations related to the enforcement of zoning ordinances and the arrest of the Plaintiff. Plaintiff claimed that his 1st, 4th, and 14th Amendment rights were violated. The case was pending before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia. Judge Johnston granted a Motion for Summary Judgment based on a legal ruling that Plaintiff had not shown that any of the Defendants had violated his constitutional rights.
